About Avocet

Avocet was founded in 2004 by Paul and Nicci Levy.  Paul is a recently retired Social Worker whilst Nicci is a registered Social Worker.  Both are company directors of Avocet.

Avocet Independent Social Workers and experienced professionals have a developed knowledge of children’s services and complex family issues. We work with children in need of services and protection, children with physical and emotional disabilities, children and parents with learning disabilities and difficulties, mental health concerns and those who are neurodiverse.

At Avocet we embrace equality and diversity, encouraging participation and inclusion in all our work. We adhere to, and fully support Social Work England’s fitness to practise standards, as well as the BASW Code of Ethics for Social Work. Paul Levy – Director

Paul is recently retired having practised in social work for over thirty years. His career started in residential group settings and he went on to gain a Diploma in Social Work and a BSc in Social Policy, Psychology and Sociology. Paul also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Therapeutic Communication with Children from the University of East London and The Tavistock Clinic. 

Nicci Levy - Director

Nicci has been in social work for over thirty years. Nicci also has a background in residential social work, holding the Certificate in the Residential Care of Children and Young People (CRCCYP).  Nicci has a Diploma in Social Work and holds a BA (Hons) in Child and Adolescent Studies from Luton University.
